Science
Science includes units about trees, paper, salmon and animals. We take field trips within the neighborhood to "adopt a tree" and release salmon that have been raised by the Kindergarten and Third Graders in the late spring.
Social Studies
Our Kindergarten Social Studies curriculum is closely tied to the Religion curriculum. Through the study of our neighbors to the north and south, Canada and Mexico, kindergartners explore other cultures, learn about diversity and gain respect for others. Our school community participates in three service days throughout the year which allows our students to reach out to others in need. Students contribute to the St. Joseph Baby Corner, collect non-perishables for Northwest Harvest and raise money for our sister school in Mombasa, Kenya.
Spanish
Our Spanish program begins in Kindergarten with a weekly classroom lesson. At this level students are exposed to stories, music and basic vocabulary.
